State Incentives

• New York Sate provides an income tax credit of up to $5000 for the purchase and installation of EV Charging stations. The credit is targeted at commercial and workplace charging stations, and is available through the end of 2022.

 

• The incentive and rebate funds are limited and should be taken advantage of before they are gone.

 

• The first NY state EV Charger fund was about 701 million dollars and lasted only a year, ending in September 2021.

 

• In a few years EV Charging installation will be required by law without any rebate or incentives.

2030 Goals

Biden has also set a goal of 50% vehicle sales to be electric by 2030, as part of a broader effort to become zero emissions economy-wide by 2050.


President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law includes a total of $7.5 billion to build out a nationwide network of 500,000 electric vehicle chargers.
